v1.15.3 v1.21.0
AprilNEA/OpenLogiSep 18, 2026 → Sep 19, 20261 day between releases
What's New
Adds font weight metadata extraction and fixes text clipping issues for PDF rendering
Breaking Changes
- Rust migration: TextItem literals must now include `font_weight: None` for items with unknown weights
New Features
- Adds `font_weight` (100-900 scale) to extracted text items
- Fixes text clipping to exclude off-canvas text
- Improves PDF header detection by searching within the first 1024 bytes
Improvements
- Opt-in `bold_from_weight` API reads bold status from weight values of 600 or more
- Text runs of different weight are kept as separate items when `bold_from_weight` is enabled
Bug Fixes
- Off-canvas labels no longer leak into surrounding text
- PDF headers are detected reliably even with leading bytes
Upgrade Notes
Rust users must update `TextItem` struct initialization to include `font_weight: None` for unknown weights. The `bold_from_weight` option is opt-in and defaults to the existing `is_bold` behavior. The new `font_weight` field is added to text items in Rust, Node, Python, and `pdf2md --items-json`.
