v6.4.0 v2.0.8
BITyia/DroneSplatNov 11, 2024 → Jan 28, 202578 days between releases
What's New
The newer tag is an unrelated MPFB Blender add-on release, not a successor to the DroneSplat v6.4.0 exercise tool.
Breaking Changes
- The two releases belong to different products (DroneSplat exercise CLI vs. MPFB Blender add-on), so upgrading from v6.4.0 to v2.0.8 is not a supported path and would replace the tool entirely.
- The version number regresses from 6.4.0 to 2.0.8, which will break any semver-based pinning, ranges, or automated upgrade tooling.
- Installation and distribution change from a standalone CLI to the Blender extension platform, invalidating existing install scripts.
New Features
- MPFB is distributed as an installable Blender extension from extensions.blender.org.
- This tag is declared the first stable MPFB release, replacing prior pre-stable builds.
Improvements
- Adoption of the Blender extension platform as the primary, supported installation channel.
Upgrade Notes
Do not treat v2.0.8 as an upgrade of v6.4.0; the release notes describe an entirely different project (MPFB) and the version number moves backwards. If you depend on the DroneSplat exercise CLI, stay pinned to the 6.x line and verify the repository/tag source before changing anything. Detailed MPFB changes are only available on the external release page referenced in the notes, so review that page before installing.
