What's New

Major jump to 2.0.5-beta adds admin-managed profile defaults and patches a public metadata API security flaw

Breaking Changes

  • The public metadata API no longer returns file content to anonymous share visitors when the share's download limit or file-viewer setting would otherwise forbid it, so clients relying on the old permissive behavior will break.
  • The version jumps from 1.5.x to 2.0.x, so unlisted breaking changes beyond those in these notes should be assumed.

New Features

  • Users can set a default view mode and thumbnail size from Profile settings, persisted to the account and applied on new browsers or devices.
  • Admins can edit all profile preference defaults (listing, preview, sidebar, theme and related options) for existing users from the user management panel.

Improvements

  • Moderate-severity security fix for the public metadata API that leaked file content past share download limits and viewer settings.
  • Locally saved view preferences are preserved rather than overridden by the new account-level defaults.

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed an infinite loading spinner on the root and login pages introduced by CSP security hardening.
  • Fixed dark mode styling where the background ignored configured settings for logged-out users.
  • Fixed missing right-side padding in the listing view.
  • Tilde paths for sources (e.g. "~") are now expanded correctly.
  • Improved mobile tooltip display consistency and cleaned up several styling inconsistencies.

Upgrade Notes

Treat this as a major upgrade: review any integration that reads file content through the public metadata API for anonymous share visitors, since access is now gated by download limits and the file-viewer setting. Admins may want to set profile preference defaults for existing users after upgrading, though locally saved preferences will not be overwritten. Because the notes cover a 1.x to 2.x jump and are truncated, test in staging before rolling out.
