What's New

Releases appear to come from different projects; the newer one adds Arch Linux packaging and GPU performance fixes.

Breaking Changes

  • On Arch-based systems, pacman refuses to upgrade or remove Magnitude while the application is running, so updates require closing the app first.

New Features

  • Magnitude is now packaged for Arch Linux, Omarchy, and other Arch-based x64 distributions as a pacman package, with in-app updates routed through pacman.

Improvements

  • Local inference is substantially faster, reported up to 4.5x on Apple Silicon and NVIDIA GPUs.
  • Decoding speed improved broadly across supported hardware.
  • Download reliability and the one-time optimization process were made more robust.

Bug Fixes

  • OpenClaw automation requests no longer hang or push the loaded model out of memory, and now answer within seconds.
  • Claude Code and Oh My Pi no longer fail with "Too many items" on MiniCPM5 and LFM2.5, and Oh My Pi works on Qwen3.5 with reasoning disabled.
  • Responses truncated mid tool-call by the output limit now terminate as a normal length stop instead of erroring.
  • Connecting Codex from the Magnitude app on Windows now works.
  • Illegal memory access crashes on several GPU configurations were resolved.

Upgrade Notes

The two release notes describe unrelated products (FreeLLMAPI v0.13.7 vs. Magnitude CLI 0.2.7), so this delta should not be treated as a version-to-version upgrade path. For Arch users, install via `sudo pacman -U ./magnitude-desktop.pkg.tar.zst` or the install script, and quit the app before any pacman upgrade or removal. No configuration or API migrations are mentioned for the newer release.
