Leonxlnx/taste-skillv2.1.1Oct 18, 2026by Leonxlnx

Upgrading?

AI Summary

This update refines the skill architecture by making classic styles opt-in, integrating redesign capabilities into the core, and relocating image generation to a separate repository.

Key Highlights

  • Classic styles (soft, minimalist, brutalist, etc.) are now opt-in to prevent agents from automatically selecting them.
  • Redesign capabilities are now part of the core skill, recording pages and iteratively applying design changes.
  • Image generation skills have been moved to a new repository (Leonxlnx/imagegen-skills).
  • The `full-output-enforcement` flag has been removed.
  • Plugin distinction: `taste-skill` is now the default, while `taste-skill-classics` contains the older styles.

Breaking Changes

  • Classic skills are no longer installed by default; they must be explicitly installed via `taste-skill-classics@taste-skill`.
  • The `redesign-existing-projects` skill is retired as redesigns are now core functionality.
  • The `full-output-enforcement` configuration option is removed.
  • Image generation capabilities are no longer available in this repository and must be installed from the new `Leonxlnx/imagegen-skills` repo.
  • Plugin package names have changed to separate default skills from classics.

New Features

  • Core redesign functionality that records existing pages and iteratively applies type, color, frame, states, and components.
  • New image generation skills available in the separate repository: `imagegen-frontend-web`, `imagegen-frontend-mobile`, `brandkit`, and `image-to-code`.
  • Explicit installation option for classic styles via `taste-skill-classics@taste-skill`.

Full Release Notes

One skill to reach for. Installing taste-skill no longer means an agent might pick an older skill for the job.

## Install or upgrade

```bash
npx skills add https://github.com/Leonxlnx/taste-skill --skill "design-taste-frontend"
```

## What changed

- **The classic skills are opt-in.** soft, minimalist, brutalist, gpt-taste, Stitch, v1 and v2-experimental run only when you call them by name (`/high-end-visual-design` in Claude Code, `$minimalist-ui` in Codex). An agent never picks one by itself.
- **Redesigns are part of taste-skill.** It records the existing page in a real browser first, keeps the stack, the content and everything that works, then changes type, colour, the frame, states and stock components in that order, and proves it with before-and-after screenshots. `redesign-existing-projects` is retired.
- **Image generation has its own repo:** [Leonxlnx/imagegen-skills](https://github.com/Leonxlnx/imagegen-skills) (`imagegen-frontend-web`, `imagegen-frontend-mobile`, `brandkit`, `image-to-code`), same install names.
- **`full-output-enforcement` is removed.**
- **Claude Code plugins:** `taste-skill@taste-skill` now carries only the default skill; the classics are `taste-skill-classics@taste-skill`.
