What's New
Older notes are empty, so the delta is inferred from v6.0.8: JSPI stabilized, epoll added, two settings removed.
Breaking Changes
- The `SOCKET_WEBRTC` setting has been removed entirely, so any build passing it will now fail.
- The `LEGALIZE_JS_FFI` setting has been fully removed and relocated to legacy settings.
- Disabling `WASM_BIGINT` is now deprecated and only expected implicitly when targeting JavaScript via `-sWASM=0`.
New Features
- The legacy non-WASMFS JS filesystem now supports `epoll_create1`, `epoll_ctl`, `epoll_wait`, and `epoll_pwait`.
- Epoll implementation covers level- and edge-triggered modes, `EPOLLONESHOT`, `EPOLLEXCLUSIVE`, `EPOLLRDHUP`, nesting, and blocking waits under `PROXY_TO_PTHREAD`, `ASYNCIFY`, and `JSPI`.
- JSPI is now a stable, non-experimental setting.
Improvements
- The compiler diagnostic warning for the `JSPI` setting has been removed now that it is stable.
- `WASM_BIGINT` is formally deprecated since BigInt integration is standard and on by default across supported engines.
- i64 lowering at the Wasm boundary still occurs automatically when `WASM_BIGINT` is disabled, preserving prior behavior.
Upgrade Notes
Strip `-sSOCKET_WEBRTC` and `-sLEGALIZE_JS_FFI` from build configurations before upgrading, as both settings are gone. Stop explicitly disabling `WASM_BIGINT`; it is deprecated and only applies implicitly with `-sWASM=0`. The older tag's notes carry no technical content, so treat this delta as inferred from the newer release alone and verify the version jump is intentional.
