What's New

Adds configurable storage, retention tiers, and Objective-C support with resumable embeddings.

New Features

  • Configurable index artifact storage via `GITNEXUS_STORAGE_PATH` and `GITNEXUS_STORAGE_ROOT`.
  • Generation-time content retention tiers via `GITNEXUS_CONTENT_RETENTION`.
  • Objective-C language support via vendored `tree-sitter-objc` grammar.
  • Resumable embedding jobs that fill existing indices in place.
  • Explicit FTS opt-out via `GITNEXUS_SKIP_FTS` environment variable.

Improvements

  • API endpoints now expose branch and index freshness details.
  • Embedding process enhanced with resumable capabilities.
  • Performance optimizations for language parsers.
  • Refinement of API feedback regarding branch staleness.
  • Improved consistency in graph-oriented workflows across retention tiers.

Bug Fixes

  • Stale indices are no longer incorrectly marked as fresh.
  • Long embedding jobs now resume instead of restarting from scratch.
  • UI and CLI surfaces now clearly indicate when file text is hidden by retention settings.
  • Graph structure consistency maintained across different content retention tiers.
  • Unclear behavior resolved where unresolvable indices were labeled fresh.

Upgrade Notes

Configure storage paths using `GITNEXUS_STORAGE_PATH` or `GITNEXUS_STORAGE_ROOT` to move index artifacts outside the checkout directory. Set `GITNEXUS_CONTENT_RETENTION` to control how much source text is persisted (full, symbol, or none). Enable Objective-C support or skip Full-Text Search using `GITNEXUS_SKIP_FTS=1` and `analyze --skip-fts`.
