Full Release Notes
FreeLLMAPI v0.14.2 adds free web search: a `/v1/search` endpoint over Tavily, Exa, Firecrawl and Linkup keys, and working web search in Claude Code and Codex through the gateway. ## Web search - **New `/v1/search` endpoint.** Add a free key from Tavily, Exa, Firecrawl or Linkup and search through one OpenAI-style endpoint. Engines are tried in priority order; when a key runs out of credits or is rate limited, the next key or engine takes over. Thanks @suantea for the first version. (#1174, #1458) - **Web search in Claude Code and Codex.** Claude Code's WebSearch tool and Codex's `web_search` tool now work through FreeLLMAPI, answered from your search keys. Before, these requests were dropped. Our MCP server also gains a `web_search` tool. (#1458) - **Search engines come from the catalog,** like models: the catalog decides which engines are enabled and in what order, and you can switch them off or reorder them locally. (#1458) ## Dashboard - **Models → Search:** your search engines with priority, free quota, usage this month and an on/off switch. - **Keys:** a Search group, and a Search section in Add key with links to each provider's free sign-up. - **Playground:** a new **+** button next to the message box holds **Attach files** and a **Search the web** switch (also in the settings rail). While search is on, the + turns blue instead of adding a pill to the input. A searched answer keeps its sources under **Show**, closed until you want them, and Show/Hide now opens and closes smoothly. (#1494) - **Analytics:** searches by engine and a search summary, below "Tokens over time". ## Fixes - **Sign in after a password reset.** Resetting the password now signs you in straight away, and the reset log names the account email. This helps desktop users who open the dashboard in a browser. (#1477, #1486) - **Fusion:** a prompt too large for the panel now returns a clear 413 instead of retrying. (#1479, #1485) ## Desktop - **Reliable Mac builds.** Notarization now runs in our own build step, which retries stapling when Apple's servers drop the connection, and the Intel build uses a pinned Python. Those failures had held back the v0.14.0 and v0.14.1 desktop installers. (#1495, #1498) ## Providers - **Inferbase embeddings:** verified Inferbase routes from the catalog are supported. (#1483) ## Updating Desktop users on v0.13.5 or later can update from inside the app: ⋯ → **Check for updates**. Docker: `ghcr.io/tashfeenahmed/freellmapi:v0.14.2`. The `latest` tag also points to this release. v0.14.0 and v0.14.1 were published only as Docker images; this is the first desktop release with web search. Existing keys and profiles are retained. This release adds one database migration (a search request log); it runs automatically on start.
