AI Summary
Improves the decoding of ligature glyph names within PDF font programs, allowing them to be read by their component letters or sequences.
Key Highlights
- Decodes ligature glyph names such as `f_t`, `uni00660069`, and suffixes like `.liga` into their component letters.
- Handles multi-letter results by carrying their widths through base-14 fallback.
- Maintains backward compatibility by keeping names that cannot be decoded as nothing.
New Features
- Enhanced ligature glyph name decoding in /Differences arrays and embedded font programs
Full Release Notes
Changes since 1.22.0: - Read ligature glyph names by their components instead of dropping them: names that spell a ligature by components (`f_t`, `f_f_i`, `T_h`), as a `uni` sequence of several code points (`uni00660069`), or with a suffix (`a.sc`, `f_i.liga`) decode to their letters per the Adobe Glyph List specification, in `/Differences` arrays and in embedded font programs' own glyph names; multi-letter results carry their widths through the base-14 fallback. A name that still cannot be read keeps reading as nothing, as in 1.22.0 (#558). No API changes. Release preparation: #559.
