charmbracelet/gumSep 27, 2026 → Sep 28, 20261 day between releases
What's New
The newer release introduces a persistent memory backend for Google ADK, which is a distinct package from the `gum` terminal UI library updated in the older release.
New Features
- Implements `BaseMemoryService` for Google ADK compatibility
- Supports typed memory extraction (preference, fact, decision, etc.)
- Per-user memory scoping using SHA256 hashing
- Includes `remember_tool` for explicit memory saving
- Supports `adk web`, `adk api_server`, and `adk run`
Improvements
- Adds `MemantoMemoryService` with `add_session_to_memory`, `add_events_to_memory`, `add_memory`, and `search_memory`
- Implements `ConversationMemoryExtractionService` with chunking support
- Adds `remember_tool` / `memanto_remember` FunctionTool
- Supports per-user memory scoping with private tagging
- Enables ADK's `preload_memory` and `load_memory` tools to read from Memanto
Upgrade Notes
The newer release is a completely different package (`memanto-google-adk`) and cannot be upgraded from `charmbracelet/gum`. It requires adding a new dependency and configuring a new API key (`$MOORCHEH_API_KEY`).

This is the first release of `memanto-google-adk`, a persistent memory backend for Google ADK agents. It implements ADK's `BaseMemoryService` to enable tools like `preload_memory` and `load_memory` to read from Memanto, storing conversations as typed memories with per-user scoping.
