Full Release Notes

The highlights of this release are an **Extension Manager** inside the app, **document units** (metric and imperial), a **Model Browser**, much faster editing and push/pull on big models, and more than forty fixes to tools, inferences and sheets. All nine languages are complete.

> **Windows build updated on 12 October:** the extension manager now opens fast and without flicker ([#555](https://github.com/ingelibre/ingetrazo/issues/555)). Nothing else changed; if you already installed 0.5.8 on Windows, installing it again over the top is enough. macOS and Linux files are unchanged.

## ⚠️ Before you update: files and older versions

- **Your existing `.igz` files open exactly as before.** We checked 157 real documents, from a few faces up to 66 MB: 0.5.7 and 0.5.8 read the same faces, edges, groups, areas, textures, layers and units, and saving and reopening them gives identical results.
- **A large model saved with 0.5.8 does not open in 0.5.7 or earlier.** From about **20,000 faces and edges** on (a house with some detail already gets there), the file is saved in a new format that is faster and a third of the size. An older version will not open it: it says the file is newer and leaves whatever you had open untouched. **If you share models with someone, ask them to update too.** Small models are saved as before and open in any version.
- A document that keeps components with no placed copy (the new **Keep in File** option) loses them when opened in an older version.

## New

**Extension Manager** (Extensions ▸ Manage extensions…). Browse the catalog from ingetrazo.com, with search, tags and a filter for reviewed extensions, and install, update, disable or uninstall with one click. Before anything is installed, every download is checked against its SHA-256 checksum. You can see each extension's licence and repository, and whether that exact version was reviewed. Extensions you installed by hand with 0.5.7 or earlier show up and can be managed too. The example extensions (Levels, Polygon properties, Windowizer) are now installed from here (#452, @kagehak).

**Document units** (Window ▸ Units…, **Ctrl+U**). Work in metric, millimetres, imperial or custom units. Lengths are shown as decimals or fractions, and area and volume can have their own unit. You can also choose the angle unit and the decimal separator. The units reach every tool, box and panel, and are saved in the document. A new document asks which units to work in (#6 by Gabriel Rodríguez, @canalsecuario-blip).

**Model Browser** (the Browser tab). A new tab with every group and component in a tree, at any depth, with an icon, an eye, a lock, its type and its layer. From there you can:
- select, open, hide and rename (F2);
- drag rows into or out of groups, without anything moving in the model;
- **lock** a group (visible, but it can't be picked) and **isolate** the selection;
- move several rows to a layer or paint them at once;
- manage **section planes**, each with its own cut fill;
- **make a plan of a group** or **a view of a section** with a right click, and put it on a sheet.

Based on @fafecm's Project Structure plugin (#87) and the scope written by @roymendezcastro (#219).

**Side panels with tabs on top**, in the model and in the sheet composer. Tabs can be reordered and moved to the other side by dragging; each side folds with Ctrl+F5 / Ctrl+F6. Window ▸ Panels ▸ Restore default panels brings back the default layout.

**Views and sheets, in the composer.** A tab with the model's scenes (with thumbnails) and the sheets with their views. A scene dragged onto the page lands at a standard scale. Sheets can be opened, duplicated, reordered and exported together to PDF from there.

**Components:** Select ▸ All Instances and **Replace Component** (swap the placeholder chair for the final one, keeping position, rotation, scale, layer and material); thumbnails and a filter in the "In model" list, and components from another `.igz` used as a library (@canalsecuario-blip).

**Round 3D also bevels** (Shift+F): chamfer, adjustable curve, step, cornice and moulding profiles, or one drawn by hand, with a live preview (@canalsecuario-blip).

**The Solid Inspector repairs.** It is now a side-panel tab. It finds internal and reversed faces as well as open borders and loose edges, and **Repair** / **Repair all** fix in one step whatever has a single answer. You can also step through the problems one by one, highlighted on screen.

**And also:**
- **Recent materials**: the last six you painted with (#263).
- **Parallel / Perspective / Two-point buttons** on the views toolbar (#292).
- **Alt+Q / Alt+W** to set the rest of the model aside while editing a component (#237).
- **Number of arc segments** before you draw (#290, #298).
- **Select None** (Ctrl+T) (#367).
- **A + on the cursor** when Move, Rotate or Flip are about to copy (#262).

## Changed

- **New shortcuts**: Ctrl+1…7 for the standard views, Shift+F for Round 3D, Ctrl+H / Ctrl+Shift+H for Hide and Unhide all (#258, #259, #261).
- **Push/Pull**:
  - shows the real result while you drag, also inwards (#434, #458, PR #487 by @FG-RVT);
  - commits when you release the button after a drag, and the usual click-click still works;
  - a distance typed right after a push corrects it;
  - a dashed line shows which point it is measuring against;
  - with one face already selected, the first click pushes that face.
- **AI assistant with local models**: it now uses a coding model by default (`qwen2.5-coder:7b`), stops after 3 failed attempts in a row, and has a new `box()` recipe (#461).

## Faster

- **Editing inside a large group, almost 3× faster** (1.9 s → 0.7 s per line in a 25,000-face group).
- **Push/Pull on terrain and imported models, up to 9× faster.** A push that could freeze the app for 3–4 minutes now takes about 20–30 s. On an ordinary face, 1.5 s → 0.8 s.
- **Huge models open 3× faster, save 3.6× faster and are a third of the size** (the new format above). With the industrial plant from #158: opening 61 → 19 s, memory 9.7 → 4.3 GB, file 171 → 54 MB.
- **Orbiting a model with thousands of components, 11× smoother** (1.3 s → 0.12 s per frame on #158).
- Zoom, selection and snapping no longer hang or run out of memory on huge models.
- Hovering with Line and dragging with Move, up to 2× faster on big models (#312, #346, @orianbsilva).
- Smooth first-person walking in large buildings: 38 → 64 frames per second (#361).
- Opening a huge document no longer leaves the window "not responding" (#158, @pacaeiro).
- The Flatpak starts faster, and the window appears sooner even with many extensions installed (#440, @cdblue999).

## Fixed (the most important)

- **Orbiting while zoomed in close no longer loses the camera or blocks saving** (#485, #383): the model "disappeared" and then saving was refused.
- **Exporting to GLB, DAE or OBJ failed with any model made by the AI** (#462, @blackflash73).
- **Turning on MultiView (or another extension that moves the viewport) closed IngeTrazo.**
- **On Windows, "Go to location" in the Terrain panel closed the app** on some machines with AMD graphics (#327, diagnosed by @timwelchnz; fix by @PINYOPATTANAWASANPORN).
- **Redo with Ctrl+Shift+Z did not work on Linux**; now Ctrl+Y and Ctrl+Shift+Z work on every system (#313, @RaphaelNunes10).
- **A new solid came out with its bottom face reversed** when another open piece was in the model (#230, @Rainjalin).
- **Subtracting a third solid from a wall with two doors failed** (#227, @fafecm).
- **General preferences were lost on restart** (theme, autosave, `.bak` copy…) (#266, diagnosed by @parampreetss).
- **A loose face in front of a group could not be selected** (#276, #363, #378).
- **GLB keeps the model's structure**: groups and components with their names and positions, shared copies, people standing up and not mirrored (#304, #353).
- **Importing a GLB made with IngeTrazo brings it in at the right size** (one larger than 40 m used to arrive shrunk).
- **Section fill covers only the cut geometry**, with holes kept as holes.
- **Entity Info shows areas in the document's units** (#432, #406, @dns-0).
- **Rectangle sizes with a comma and a space** (`1220, 2440`, `1 3/8", 1 3/16"`) and fractions such as `½` (#189).
- **Zooming out of a large model hid its far part** (#340).
- Reversing faces inside a group now shows at once (#197); copying with Move+Ctrl splits the faces where the copy lands (#379); moving an edge onto another no longer leaves double vertices (#341); undo no longer leaves loose edges (#355); several inference (#357, #368) and shortcut (#323, #342, #493) fixes; Esc in the composer (#504); and more.

The full list is in the [CHANGELOG](https://github.com/ingelibre/ingetrazo/blob/main/CHANGELOG.md) (in Spanish).

## Security

- A crafted `.igz` could get a private file copied into the next save or export by naming it as a texture: now only real images are saved (@vicc3d).
- A compromised online library server could write outside its cache (@vicc3d).
- A web page open on the same computer could send commands to the AI bridge while it was on (#335, @WatchmanReeves).

## Languages

French (#295, @YannFR81) and German (#365, @PESI3D) completed; Chinese, Italian, Indonesian, Polish and Portuguese get every new phrase. Spanish now uses the informal "tú" throughout (#352, @kant).

## Known issues

- The Windows installer is not signed yet: Windows may warn when you open it ("More info ▸ Run anyway").
- Some "Cancel" buttons in standard dialogs stay in English in other languages; this will be fixed in the next version.
