`fonts-bundle-v1.tar.xz` is the font bundle the build stages into every package:
1513 faces, 2.16 GB extracted, 843 MB compressed. It ships as a release asset
rather than repo content because GitHub caps a tracked file at 100 MiB
(`Apple Color Emoji.ttc` alone is 183 MiB) and an `.xz` archive cannot be
delta-compressed, so committing it would append the whole archive to history on
every font change.
The build fetches and verifies it automatically -- `make fonts-extract`, driven
by `scripts/fetch-fonts.py`. `scripts/data/font-bundle.json` pins the asset
name, size and sha256, so a given commit expects exactly one bundle and a
truncated or substituted download fails loudly instead of silently producing a
browser that reports fonts it cannot render.
