Upgrading?
AI Summary
This release implements registry validation for PyPI package ownership by checking for an 'mcp-name' token in the package's metadata. To ensure the token is properly indexed, the version was bumped, and validation logic was refined to inspect the actual built wheel's METADATA file.
Key Highlights
- Implementation of PyPI package ownership validation using the 'mcp-name' token.
- Requirement that the token must be present on the package index, necessitating a release.
- Validation logic updated to inspect the built wheel's METADATA file instead of assuming README.md content.
- Fix for registry validation failures ensuring the token is actually indexed.
New Features
- PyPI package ownership validation via mcp-name token.
- Validation of token presence in built wheel metadata.
Full Release Notes
The registry proves you own a PyPI package by finding an mcp-name token in the published description, which for this project is README.md. Without it, publishing io.github.feder-cr/aihawk is refused with "Registry validation failed for package". The token has to be on the index, not just in the tree, so it needs a release to reach anything: hence the bump to 0.43.0. Checked on the built wheel rather than assumed, the token is in aihawk-0.43.0.dist-info/METADATA, which is the description PyPI serves and the registry reads.
