AI Summary
Addresses UI freezing issues by replacing blocking modal dialogs with a two-step confirmation process for destructive actions and moving renaming to inline editing. The release also fixes keyboard navigation to allow Escape to abandon edits without closing the panel.
Key Highlights
- Destructive actions (Clear, Delete) require a second press to disarm (disarmed after 5 seconds)
- Renaming is now performed inline within the row
- Escape key behavior fixed to allow abandoning edits without closing the panel
- Armed controls refuse to activate while the agent is working
Breaking Changes
- Escape key behavior changed: previously closing the panel, now it abandons the edit
- Clear and Delete now require a second press to execute instead of a single confirmation
New Features
- Two-step confirmation mechanism for destructive actions
- Inline editing for renaming rows
- Disarming timer for destructive controls
Full Release Notes
There were three: a confirm on Clear, a prompt on rename, a confirm on delete. Each of them blocks the thread it is called on - while one is up the frame pump stops, the transcript stops drawing and the step clock freezes, and the agent keeps working server-side the whole time. On a product whose claim is that you can watch it work, three controls stopped the watching; walk away from an open dialog and the page is frozen for as long as you are gone. It is also one of the ways a page can look exactly like the "everything is stuck" this was reported as. CLEAR AND DELETE TAKE A SECOND PRESS. It is the pattern for a destructive control in a list, it builds no modal, and it leaves the page alive. The sentence the dialog carried is not lost: it moves onto the control, in its label and its tooltip, where the eye reads it and a screen reader announces it. Disarmed after five seconds, because a control left armed is one that gets pressed by somebody who has forgotten why it looks like that. Clear still refuses while the agent is working, and now it also refuses to ARM then, so the press after the run ends is not the second one. RENAMING HAPPENS IN THE ROW. The input replaces the name where the name already is, which is where the eye is: Enter keeps it, Escape leaves the old one alone, moving away keeps it - the way renaming a thing in a list behaves everywhere else. AND THAT MOVED A KEY, which is the part worth reading. The panel takes Escape on the way DOWN and closes itself, which is right while it is the innermost thing that owns the key and wrong the moment an edit is open inside it: the key somebody presses to abandon a rename would have closed the panel under them. The handler lets a key from an input through. It is the same rule the panel already applies against the run - a modal takes Escape and nothing else sees it - one level further in. Suite 610 green. Eight known-bad inputs, eight killed: Clear on one press, the armed control saying nothing about what follows, the control staying armed after use, arming during a run, the delete wired straight to the press, the rename asking in a dialog again, Escape keeping the typed name, and Escape while renaming reaching the panel.
