v2940 streamdown@2.7.0

high risk

googleworkspace/cliSep 30, 2026 → Sep 30, 20260 days between releases

What's New

Newer tag is a different package (streamdown 2.7.0), not an upgrade of googleworkspace/cli v2940.

Breaking Changes

  • The two releases belong to unrelated packages (googleworkspace/cli vs. streamdown), so there is no valid upgrade path between them.
  • Any tooling that pins by tag/name will resolve to a completely different artifact and API surface.

New Features

  • fallbackComponent prop renders tags in allowedTags or raw HTML tags that have no entry in components.
  • disableAutolinkProtocols lets you opt specific protocols (e.g. mailto) out of GFM autolinking.
  • portal prop configures the container used by Mermaid, table fullscreen, and the link safety modal.
  • defaultComponents is now exported so custom renderers can be layered on top of the built-ins.
  • onCopy/onError callbacks now fire for the default code and Mermaid copy buttons.

Improvements

  • Code blocks highlight only newly streamed lines instead of re-highlighting the whole block on each update.
  • Already-parsed blocks are reused during streaming and only block tokens are lexed.
  • Code/table auto-scroll is throttled to once per animation frame rather than every chunk.
  • Caret show/hide no longer restyles the entire document, removing tens of ms per toggle on long streams.
  • The highlight cache is now LRU-bounded, and Mermaid diagrams render one at a time so a growing fence doesn't stall the stream.

Bug Fixes

  • Mermaid diagrams auto-fit their container and text is readable again.
  • A '<' inside math expressions no longer truncates the remainder of the content.
  • Incomplete streaming images show a loading skeleton instead of disappearing.

Upgrade Notes

Treat this as a package mismatch rather than a version bump: v2940 ships vitals-monitoring fixes for googleworkspace/cli, while the newer tag is streamdown 2.7.0, a markdown streaming renderer. If you genuinely intend to move to streamdown 2.7.0, the new props are additive and the changes are performance- and fix-oriented, but confirm the registry/package name and re-validate your integration. If you meant to upgrade the CLI, no corresponding newer release is described here.
