What's New
Major version jump introduces Directus CLI and alters Update/Delete Items API behavior
Breaking Changes
- "Update Items" and "Delete Items" now return null instead of affecting every item when key/query is empty
- "Update Items" and "Delete Items" throw errors when both key and query are defined together
- "Update Items" throws when key or query is combined with a batch payload
- Storage connections leaking fix changes behavior on asset request cancellation
- exists() now throws on failure instead of returning false
New Features
- Introduced @directus/cli (d6s) for syncing schema and configuration
- Added search-first AI tool discovery for chat and MCP tools
- Added a caption field to the WYSIWYG image drawer
- Added the collection name appended to display template in item and drawer headers
Improvements
- Fixed storage connections leaking when asset requests were cancelled or transformation failed
- exists() now throws on failure for better error handling
- Updated ASSETS_TRANSFORM_IMAGE_MAX_OUTPUT_DIMENSION to 6000 px
Bug Fixes
- Fixed "Update Items" and "Delete Items" operations affecting every item when given an empty or missing key or query
- Fixed storage connections leaking when asset requests were cancelled
Upgrade Notes
Flows relying on the previous fallback behavior for Update/Delete Items should use {"limit": -1}. Callers relying on exists() returning false for failures must handle errors. Ensure S3 permissions include s3:ListBucket.
