AI Summary
This release extends video support by allowing clips longer than a minute to play as layers and fixes app freezing issues during video loading. It also refines parameter binding behavior to preserve user-set values over bindings.
Key Highlights
- Videos longer than a minute now play as layers instead of being refused.
- Loading particle and obstacle videos no longer freezes the app.
- Parameter bindings now 'play over' values, preserving user settings.
- Fixes for opacity, blend, and visibility bindings saving incorrect values.
New Features
- Support for videos longer than one minute playing as layers.
- Particle and obstacle video decoding runs on separate threads.
- UI improvements with progress indicators and cancel buttons for video decoding.
Full Release Notes
Bindings play over the values you set instead of overwriting them, so bound presets stay clean and save what you meant; videos longer than a minute play as layers; particle and obstacle videos load without freezing the app. ### Added - **Videos longer than a minute play as layers.** They used to be refused with "Video too long for pre-decode". A long clip now decodes as it plays on its own thread, with seek and loop, and shows its first frame as soon as it opens; clips up to a minute still pre-decode for instant scrubbing. Particle video sources keep the one-minute limit. ### Fixed - **Loading a preset with a particle video source, or picking an obstacle video, froze the app until the whole clip was decoded.** Those decodes now run on their own thread like media layers do, the particle panel shows how far each one has got with a Cancel button, several layers can decode at once, and a video a preset restores keeps its saved speed and loop settings. - **A preset with parameter bindings showed as edited the moment it loaded, and saving it kept whatever the bindings had written that frame.** Every binding write counted as a user edit, so the `*` never went away, and for a user effect the same path armed the `.pfx` autosave, so once a bound source went quiet the modulated values became the effect's new defaults. A binding now plays over your value instead of replacing it: sliders hold what you set, a marker under the slider (and in the web remote) shows where the binding has it, and presets and `.pfx` files save your value. - **Bound layer opacity, blend, visibility, Master post-processing and particle settings saved whatever the binding last wrote.** A binding on any of them now plays over your setting the way parameter bindings do: the slider keeps your value with a marker at the binding's, presets save yours, and removing the binding puts the control back. ## Downloads | Platform | File | Notes | |----------|------|-------| | **macOS** | `.dmg` | Universal binary (Apple Silicon + Intel) | | **Linux x86_64** | `.tar.gz` | glibc 2.35+ (Ubuntu 22.04+, Debian 12+) | | **Windows x64** | `.zip` | Windows 10+ | ## Getting started **macOS**: Open the DMG, drag Fosfora.app to Applications (or run directly).
