Dify 1.11.0 adds multimodal knowledge bases with image extraction and embedding, plus Zen Mode and workflow editing shortcuts.
New Features
- Multimodal knowledge bases now auto-extract images from Markdown (JPG/PNG/GIF up to 2 MB) and link each image to its corresponding text chunk.
- Multimodal embedding models enable text-to-image, image-to-image, and image-to-text retrieval, while text-only models still pass images through to vision-enabled LLMs.
- Zen Mode offers a distraction-free workflow editing view triggered with Cmd+K.
- WorkflowTool gains an Open Workflow shortcut for jumping straight into editing.
- Start node JSON Schema validation keeps workflow inputs consistent, and admin API keys can bypass CSRF for automation.

Upgrade Notes
If you deployed 1.10.1-fix.1 before 2025-12-09 03:00 UTC, confirm your web service still points at the corrected image tag before moving to 1.11.0. Update multimodal embedding model plugins to their latest versions to use the new image-aware retrieval paths. Existing text-only knowledge bases keep working, but re-indexing is needed to pick up image extraction.
