clients/go/v0.5.1 v0.5.1
microsoft/agent-host-protocolJul 2, 2026 → Jul 2, 20260 days between releases
What's New
The newer tag is the Swift client for the same AHP 0.5.1 protocol, so there is no functional delta from the Go client release.
Breaking Changes
- The `filter` field is gone from `ListSessionsParams`; this is inherited from 0.5.0 and is identical in both tags, not a new delta.
- The `fetchTurns` contract is not wire-compatible with 0.5.0, so peers pinned to the old contract must be upgraded in lockstep.
New Features
- Session-level `inputNeeded` aggregation across all chats, with set/removed state actions and a tool-call confirmation union.
- Cursor-based `listSessions` pagination via shared `PaginatedParams`/`PaginatedResult` types, fully additive when omitted.
- `delivery.maxLatencyMs` on subscribe params (plus a delivery-aware subscribe call) to cap subscription coalescing, including zero.
- Optional `capabilities` on `AgentInfo` so clients gate multi-chat and fork on advertised capabilities rather than provider IDs.
- Bounded chat-history tail subscription with `turnsNextCursor` and a `turnsLoaded` action for paging older turns on demand.
Improvements
- The newer release exposes the same protocol surface through idiomatic Swift naming (camelCase fields, `subscribe(_:delivery:)`) instead of Go-style identifiers.
- Pagination fields were designed to be backward compatible, preserving prior behaviour when limit and cursor are unset.
- Capability-driven feature gating replaces provider-id switches, simplifying multi-chat and fork detection.
- Optional `nonce` on `ContentRef` and optional `intention` on tool-call lifecycle states extend the wire model without forcing changes.
Upgrade Notes
Treat these as two language bindings of one protocol version rather than a version bump, so no migration is needed between the Go and Swift packages themselves. If you are moving from 0.5.0, apply the documented breaks (dropped `filter`, incompatible `fetchTurns`) and update clients and hosts together. Adopt pagination and `maxLatencyMs` incrementally, since omitting the new fields preserves existing behaviour.
