What's New

Spec/v0.5.1 adds session input tracking and pagination but includes breaking protocol changes from v0.0.2.

Breaking Changes

  • ListSessionsParams no longer accepts the filter field.
  • The fetchTurns contract changed incompatibly, so clients relying on the previous shape must update.

New Features

  • SessionState.inputNeeded aggregates outstanding input requests across chats, with session actions to add and remove entries.
  • Session listing now supports cursor-based pagination.
  • Multi-chat and fork features are gated by capability checks.
  • AgentCustomization can specify optional model and tools fields.
  • ContentRef supports an optional nonce, and tool calls can carry an optional human-readable intention.

Improvements

  • SubscribeParams.delivery.maxLatencyMs lets clients request maximum subscription delivery latency, including zero for no coalescing.
  • The session reducer updates InputNeeded status while the input queue is non-empty and falls back to InProgress when empty.
  • ToolCallConfirmationState union distinguishes pending confirmation from pending result confirmation.

Upgrade Notes

The older v0.0.2 notes describe a pulpie package release, while spec/v0.5.1 defines the AHP protocol, so verify you are upgrading the intended artifact. Protocol clients should remove ListSessionsParams.filter, adapt to the new fetchTurns contract, and use cursor pagination. Implement session/inputNeededSet and session/inputNeededRemoved handling, and gate multi-chat/fork behavior on advertised capabilities.
