Upgrading?

AI Summary

A minor patch release focused on improving ligature glyph name decoding to ensure complex font glyphs are mapped to their actual component letters.

Key Highlights

  • Decodes ligature glyph names represented by component names (e.g., `f_t`) or sequences (e.g., `uni00660069`).
  • Handles suffixes like `.liga` correctly based on the Adobe Glyph List specification.

New Features

  • Improved ligature decoding logic for embedded font programs and `/Differences` arrays.

Full Release Notes

Changes since 1.22.0:

- Read ligature glyph names by their components instead of dropping them: names that spell a ligature by components (`f_t`, `f_f_i`, `T_h`), as a `uni` sequence of several code points (`uni00660069`), or with a suffix (`a.sc`, `f_i.liga`) decode to their letters per the Adobe Glyph List specification, in `/Differences` arrays and in embedded font programs' own glyph names; multi-letter results carry their widths through the base-14 fallback. A name that still cannot be read keeps reading as nothing, as in 1.22.0 (#558).

No API changes.

Release preparation: #559.
