## Release Notes

#### ✨ Highlights

This release bump the lock file version to v7. A lockfile bump is friction: once one developer
regenerates pixi.lock in version 7, every collaborator (and CI) needs a pixi that understands the
new format.

Lockfile v7 enables us to deliver this:

 * Reproducible source package builds
 * Less lockfile churn: We store more stable information
 * More portable lockfiles: The lockfile will no longer contain absolute, machine-specific paths.

#### ⚠️ Deprecations

- The `pixi build` command has been deprecated — use `pixi publish` for equivalent behaviour. See https://pixi.prefix.dev/latest/reference/cli/pixi/publish/.
