What's New
v0.9.2 hardens update.sh with tunnel-safe service preservation and CPU-compatible artifact selection.
New Features
- update.sh now preserves tunnel-aware mtproto-proxy.service units instead of overwriting them.
- FORCE_SERVICE_UPDATE=1 allows operators to explicitly restore the default release service unit.
- The updater selects x86_64_v3 or generic x86_64 artifacts based on CPU capability.
- A preflight binary compatibility check aborts updates before replacing a working binary if SIGILL would occur.
- Release workflow now publishes both mtproto-proxy-linux-x86_64 and mtproto-proxy-linux-x86_64_v3.
Improvements
- Update process is safer across heterogeneous VPS and CPU environments.
- README documentation was updated to reflect the new update-server behavior.
- Release artifact handling now covers both x86_64 compatibility tiers.
Bug Fixes
- Fixed production update scenario where update.sh could lose a tunnel configuration.
- Fixed status=4/ILL crashes on hosts lacking x86_64_v3 CPU support.
Upgrade Notes
No config.toml migration is required. If you keep a local copy of the old update.sh, refresh it before the next update. Use FORCE_SERVICE_UPDATE=1 only when you intentionally want to replace a custom tunnel unit with the default release unit.
