v3.42.4 v2.0.0
tobychui/zoraxySep 17, 2026 → Sep 18, 20260 days between releases
What's New
Upgrading from v3.42.4 to v2.0.0 requires significant configuration changes due to project-aware memory and module path updates.
Breaking Changes
- Go module path changed to `github.com/Gentleman-Programming/engram/v2`.
- Read scoping changed: omitted project selectors now resolve the canonical current project instead of reading all projects.
- Project resolution now fails with available-project information if the current directory is ambiguous.
- Cloud scope is explicitly project-scoped; `ENGRAM_CLOUD_ALLOWED_PROJECTS` is now required for Cloud servers.
- Authenticated deployments require a non-default `ENGRAM_JWT_SECRET`.
New Features
- Project-aware memory and ownership with consistent identity resolution across configuration and Git metadata.
- Conflict detection and memory relations with new `mem_judge` and `mem_compare` commands.
- Optional Cloud replication with Postgres-backed storage, autosync, and lease protection.
- Cloud dashboard and managed access with server-rendered interfaces and audit logging.
- Expanded agent integrations for Claude Code, Cursor, VS Code Copilot, and other MCP clients.
Improvements
- Data-integrity hardening and reliability improvements following 462 commits since v1.20.0.
- Richer local memory and retrieval with FTS5 search, prompt capture, and beta Obsidian knowledge-graph export.
- Runtime-bound session attribution to prevent writes from being assigned to the wrong session.
- Expanded FTS5 search with project and scope filters, match modes, topic-key results, and CJK/trigram support.
- Improved Bubble Tea TUI and expanded project-management commands.
Upgrade Notes
Update the Go module path to `github.com/Gentleman-Programming/engram/v2` and update environment variables to handle project-aware scoping. If using Cloud features, set `ENGRAM_CLOUD_ALLOWED_PROJECTS` and update `ENGRAM_JWT_SECRET` to a non-default value.
The Two Releases
v3.42.4 — smart search score semantics fix
Sep 17, 2026· 1 month ago
Fixes a bug in `memory_search` where the `similarity` field was incorrectly reporting an internal RRF fusion score instead of the raw retrieval relevance score. The `similarity` field now correctly holds the raw score, and the fused score is exposed as a new `rankingScore` field.
