What's New

Major rework of `wt switch --execute` to use programs instead of shell strings and removal of retired config keys

Breaking Changes

  • `wt switch --execute` syntax changed to accept a program instead of a shell string
  • Retired config keys like `commit.generation.template-file` are removed
  • Environment variables `WORKTRUNK_DIRECTIVE_EXEC_FILE` and `WORKTRUNK_SHELL` are no longer supported

New Features

  • `wt switch --execute` now takes a program rather than a shell string
  • Worktrunk automatically sets upstream for branches created from matching remote branches
  • Picker line limit increased to prevent crashes
  • Automation interfaces marked as stable
  • Concurrent pruning added for `wt step prune`

Improvements

  • `wt switch --execute` no longer pollutes the user's shell environment by spawning a child process
  • Branch tracking logic updated so created branches track upstream based on name matching
  • Picker line limit increased to prevent crashes
  • Review mode added to `wt config approvals add`

Upgrade Notes

Update `wt switch --execute` to use `-x sh -- -c '...'` for shell behavior. Remove retired config keys (`commit.generation.template-file`, `squash-template-file`) and replace them with `template` or `squash-template`. Remove environment variables `WORKTRUNK_DIRECTIVE_EXEC_FILE` and `WORKTRUNK_SHELL`.
