Upgrading?
AI Summary
Enhances the ability to read ligature glyphs by decoding their component names and Unicode sequences instead of dropping them.
Key Highlights
- Decodes ligature names spelled by components (e.g., `f_t`, `T_h`).
- Handles `uni` sequences representing multiple code points.
- Preserves glyph widths through base-14 fallback mechanisms.
New Features
- Improved glyph name decoding in `/Differences` arrays and embedded font programs.
Full Release Notes
Changes since 1.22.0: - Read ligature glyph names by their components instead of dropping them: names that spell a ligature by components (`f_t`, `f_f_i`, `T_h`), as a `uni` sequence of several code points (`uni00660069`), or with a suffix (`a.sc`, `f_i.liga`) decode to their letters per the Adobe Glyph List specification, in `/Differences` arrays and in embedded font programs' own glyph names; multi-letter results carry their widths through the base-14 fallback. A name that still cannot be read keeps reading as nothing, as in 1.22.0 (#558). No API changes. Release preparation: #559.
